LiveSTT - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy outlines how LiveSTT ("we," "our," or "the App") handles your information. Because LiveSTT is built with a "Privacy by Design" philosophy, our default stance is to process everything locally on your device.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
LiveSTT is designed to be an offline-first application.
- Audio Data: We do not record, store, or transmit your microphone audio or internal system audio to our servers. All audio analysis for speech-to-text (STT) is performed in real-time on your device.
- Transcription/Translation Text: The text generated from your audio is processed locally. We do not have access to your transcripts, translations, or the content of your conversations/media.
2. On-Device Processing
LiveSTT utilizes on-device AI models to provide transcription and translation services.
- Local AI: Speech recognition and smart sentence segmentation happen entirely within your device's hardware.
- Apple Translation Integration: Offline translations are powered by Apple's system language packs. This data remains under your control and subject to Apple's privacy standards.
3. Optional Cloud Translation
While LiveSTT defaults to offline processing, you may occasionally choose to enable Cloud Translation for higher accuracy.
- User Consent: This feature is only activated if you explicitly select it.
- Data Usage: If enabled, specific text snippets (not the original audio) are sent to third-party translation providers (e.g., Apple or Google) to be processed. This data is not stored by LiveSTT.
4. Permissions
To provide its core features, LiveSTT requires the following permissions:
- Microphone: Used solely to capture live speech for real-time transcription.
- Screen/Audio Recording (Internal Audio): Used to capture internal system audio (e.g., from videos or podcasts) for transcription.
5. Third-Party Services & Payments
LiveSTT uses standard third-party services for business operations:
- App Store (Apple): All in-app purchases (Annual Subscriptions and One-Time Purchases) are handled by Apple. We do not collect or store your credit card or billing information.
- Telemetry (Optional): We may collect anonymous, non-identifying crash reports or usage statistics to improve app stability. This does not include any audio or text data.
6. Data Security
Since your data stays on your device, its security is tied to the security of your hardware. We recommend keeping your device OS updated and using built-in security features (like FaceID/Passcode) to protect your information.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
